The name of Almetes? MANN is not clear in the family Bible record of her marriage to Major Lindsey Carpenter on 30 August 1893. Her death in childbirth occurred about 19 July 1894 in San Antonio. The family has recently learned the place of death because the place is mentioned in a book about the Sheriff of Frio County. The sheriff killed Almetes?'s brother-in-law in a confrontation when A. W. Carpenter returned by train from his sister-in-law's funeral in San Antonio. The place of the marriage is not known. M. L. Carpenter was born in 1870 near Knobnoster, Johnson County, Missouri. This was my grandfather's first marriage. He worked for the railroad. Mother and baby are buried in the same grave according to family history. I would like to know if anyone knows where the grave might be. The family religion was Christian-Disciples of Christ.
