James Shelton and Texas Shelton's 1840-1900

Hi,

I'm still needing help and I thought I would try posting again. I have ancestors in Arkansas around Franklin and Sebastion county. I found this on the 1900 census for Big Creek township, Sebastion county, Arkansas:

Mary A. Shelton white born 1860 in Arkansas
On her gravestone is Mary E. Shelton

Arnice (Arnest) A. Shelton May 1889 Texas

Lillie B. Shelton Feb 1890 Texas

Lula D. Shelton Feb 1890 Texas

George A. Shelton Mar 1892 Texas

James P.        Shelton Apr 1894 Texas

Mary was married to a man named James Shelton born either in Arkansas or Texas. I have heard Mary's last name as McGortt, McQuirt, McGurt, McGee, so I have no idea what it really was. She was either half or full American Indian, (I have a picture of her), She and the kids left James sometime around 1898 or so in Oklahoma and moved to Arkansas and was there for the 1900 census. Sometime before moving to Arkansas Mary, James Sr. and the kids lived in an old cabin in Gore, Oklahoma and lived on fish from the Illinois river.

This info from FT. Smith library:

Jan 1903 Arnice (Arnest) (Lavaca, Sebastion, Ark.) married T.J. Breazzeale

Jun 1918 James (Lavaca, Sebastion, Ark.)
married Belle Emmery (Charleston, Ark)

Dec 1920 George (Sequoyah co. OK)
married Nora Morgan (Charleston, Ark)
