Janet, We are all mixed up, I don't know how the Mimms happened, my great grandfather was Mims, grandfather was both, one of his daughters was Mims, the other 10 children were Mimms. Thanks for all you help, I have too study the information and wee if anything connects. I see a John Allen Mims in your info and I am John Allen Mimms. My Great Grandfather was Dr. Samuel Alexander Mims, who died on 1 Jan 1864 in Logansport, LA. His wife moved back to South Carolina in 1868 but left a step son in LA by the name of Samuel Roderic Evander Mims (his mother was Harriet McIver, I can't find out what happened to him. Thats the reason I am so interested in Allen McIver Mims,
