Janet, We are all mixed up, I don't know how the Mimms happened, my great grandfather was Mims, grandfather was both, one of his daughters was Mims, the other 10 children were Mimms. My Great Grandfather was Dr. Samuel Alexander Mims, who died on 1 Jan 1864 in Logansport, LA. His wife moved back to South Carolina in 1868 but left a step son in LA by the name of Samuel Roderic Evander Mims (his mother was Harriet McIver, I can't find out what happened to him.
