"Siege of Bexar"

I have a relative by the name of Amos Thames that was born in Cumberland County, North Carolina in 1801. He received 960 acres on two separate land grants for being at the "Siege of Bexar" from 5th to 10th in December 1835. I can't find him on the San Antonio Historical Society's roll for the Siege? What is the problem. He died in Jefferson Co. Texas in about 1856. His sister was Margaret Thames Cade who died in Van Zandt, Texas in 1872. I am also looking for their brother William Thames born 1813 North Carolina. Any help, including census, would be appreciated.
