I purchased the subject undated studio portrait of a young woman taken by Doerr & Jacobson, 63 Commerce St., San Antonio, TX. This studio was active 1876-80. The photo is inscribed on the back of the mount in period ink handwriting:

"To my true friend.
Anna Pollmar."

This individual appears in Public Member Trees posted on ancestry.com. She is listed in the 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900 Census data for San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX; and the 1910, 1920, and 1930 Census data for Dallas, Dallas Co., TX; and the 1940 Census data for Highland Park, Dallas Co., TX.

Anna A. Pollmar, born 4 Jul 1859 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, died 20 Mar 1952 in Dallas Co., TX, was the daughter of Hermann Pollmar (1829-1902) and Caroline Herbst (1827-1919). On 29 Aug 1878, Anna married Thomas William Milburn (1855-1944). The couple had two children: Pamelia Milburn (1879-1968) and Jack Dunbar Milburn (1885-1980).
