I am still trying to locate the grave and place of death, time of death, etc. for James McLaughlin and son Stanton M. McLaughlin. Stanton is my 3rd GGrfather, James is 4th GGrfather. They may have died in Bastrop County, Texas. Probably in the 1800's.

Stanton was born in Louisiana about 1819. He was in Texas about 1835-36, in Liberty County, he claimed land for himself and his wife.

James and his brother William were at the Battle of Harrisburg fighting for the independence of Texas. We have also been told he was one of the first Texas Rangers.

All info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lorene
