we are 2nd or 3rd cousins. Francis Yoast (I am assuming this was your gg uncle Frank) moved from Pennsylvania to Bastrop between 1829-1831. he was recruited by Stephen S Austin to come to Texas.
Francis was from southern Germany and spoke German in the home. One of his daughters was Mary Jane Yoast Townsend. She was born in 1829 in Alabama in a wagon train while the family was in transit to Texas. She married Henry Pinckney Townsend.
Their youngest son (born 1875 when Mary Jane was 46) was Henry Townsend my grandfather.
Francis is listed as a member of the Republic of Texas.
