I went to the courthouse today and found no record for the 1917 date. C.L. Miller died 10/24/1918 in Utley, TX of pneumonia. His dad is Garland Miller - his death certif. is in Bk. 3, page 5. Charles B. Miller died 2/13/1913 of "heart trouble - dropped dead suddenly." His dad was Joseph Miller and he was born in Galveston. He is buried in Elgin Cemetery. His death certif is in Bk. 4, page 253. I even checked criminal records and did not find any for Todd Pace. Good luck.
