I am somewhat familiar with your William Newton Alexander, Jr. I was looking at the 1910 census for Llano Co last year and found my gr-grandfather James B Alexander and family living in Tow TX, and on the next page was your William Newton and wife Rebecca. My grandfather, Homer A Alexander always maintained that we were unrelated to these Alexanders but I find it really an odd coincidence that both families have a son named Homer and both lived in the same area of TX. In addition, your line lived in Burnet Co TX at some point in time and my grandparents settled in Burnet Co eventually. The earliest I remember them living there was when I was about 4 years old which would have been 1965 and they remained in that house in Burnet until the early 1990's, a couple of years after my grandfather died. I have tried to find some connection between your Alexanders and mine because it really puzzles me how these families could have lived so near each other and both name sons Homer and yet not be related. I have had a terrible time finding James B Alexander prior to 1900 on any census. He left home supposedly when he was between 12 and 14 years because he didn't get along with his step-mother. He didn't talk about his family but he is thought to have had a brother named John and a sister named Mary Ann. According to my mother John Alexander settled around San Saba TX, but again I have had no success finding him either. Feel free to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
