STOVALL/MAYFIELD Bandera Co. 1890

Need information on Gilford Taylor and Mahaley Caroline Foster Stovall. He was a minister in Bandera Co. She died in 1896 and is buried in West Prong Cemetery.

In 1887 they adopted Edgar and Jake Tally Allsup, sons of Daniel E. and Charlotte Jane Smythe Allsup. The boys names were changed to Edgar Stovall and Gilford Tally Stovall.

In 1948 my granddad, Gilford Tally, applied for his birth certificate and Brice H. and Mary Mayfield attested to his birth.

Can anyone tell me if there was a family connection between the Stovalls, Smythes, Mayfields and Tallys?

Also, what faith was Gilford Taylor Stovall a minister of?
