Dear Ms.Long, due to bits and pieces of San Felipe I gather the following; Prominence pre- 1836,unclear civil war period, then later infusion of largely German, some Check(?sp) immigrants in 1880's. Cemetery reflects latest group,as does overall decor of present day village. Heavy hints of very colorful past, but unclear as to what nature, that past.Very pretty village, one would think that it would be more thriving than it is,by its setting. Do visit,it intrigued me no end.mph.
