Hello- I am Bertha Weigler-- I have recently received from a cousin, the story of John Horton, the one legged cowman who lived just north of Poteet in Atascosa county. Also included in the story are mentions of "Charlie Meadows" and "Uncle Bill Rutledge" and "Wright Williams Jr". From what I understand, descendants of all of these families are still in Atascosa. I sent a copy of the story to Taylor Brite in Pleasanton and he said he will show it around and do some more research on the story. Is there Anybody else out there who has anything to add?
