William N. Gibson Dies This Morning
WILLIAM NEWTON GIBSON, 83, died this morning following an extended period of ill health. Long a resident of Big Spring, he was born in Louisiana, April 1, 1862. Services have been planned at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in the Eberley-Curry Chapel with Rev. WILLIAM BEST of the Trinity Baptist Church in charge. Burial will be in a local cemetery. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. LEVY ROBINSON of Big Spring, Mrs. R. B. HUGGINS of Lawton, Okla., and Mrs. E. A. THEGFORD of Big Spring; two sons, J. E. of Big Spring and H. H. of Independence; a stepson, C. H. FIRTH of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Z. Y. HOPE of Ithaca and Mrs. J. B. MCCALEB of Robert Lee; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
