Ruby A. Faulk Willis, 87, of Lufkin, was born March 1, 1920, in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Tassie Bell (Davis) and Jefferson Marion Faulk. She passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. While living in Houston during World War II, she became one of the first women factory foremen. Mrs. Willis was a member and a Sunday School teacher at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, a church she helped build. She was very family-oriented, and was devoted to her family and friends. Mrs. Willis had lived in Lufkin most of her life. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Wylie and Delma Willis of Lufkin, Don B. and Elaine Willis of Huntington; sisters, Lonia Tucker, Jessie Bell Johnson, Mary Tucker and Inez Groze, all of Lufkin; brothers, Curtis L. Faulk of Fort Worth, Briston Faulk of Lufkin, and Albert Lee Faulk of Bowie; sisters-in-law, Vernell, Adell and Jane Faulk; brother-in-law, Steve Tucker; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Mrs. Willis in death were her husband, Joe Thomas Willis; a son, Glenn Allen Willis; and six brothers. Pallbearers will be James Bray, Wesley Bray, David Willis, Steven Burnett, John Holt and Bobby Cook. Services for Mrs. Willis will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Derrell Surface officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
