Thank you for sharing your research regarding William F. Humberson of Nacogdoches/Anderson Co, TX, and his wife, Nancy M. FULTON. You have helped this FULTON hunter unravel a long-standing puzzle regarding the Fulton family of Anderson Co, TX.
In 1850, your "Nancy M. Fulton" (widow of William F. Humberson) was living with her brother and her mother in Anderson Co, TX. While she is identified as a "Fulton" in 1850, she is clearly identified as "Nancy Humberson" in 1860.
1850 US Census, Anderson Co, TX (entry #234):
Lorenso D. Fulton, age 29 (1821), b AL, "female" [sic]

Susan F. Fulton, age 18 (1832), b MS [young bride, Susan Frances Thomas, wife of Lorenso D. Fulton]
[Agreed, the 1850 census report is misleading! Your information, and the 1860 census, sorts things out.]

Nancy Humberson, age 38 (1822), b AL [Nancy M. (Fulton) Humberson, widow of Wm F. Humberson]
Lorenso Dow Fulton died in 1877. His widow, Susan F. (Thomas) Fulton was head of house in 1880.
1880 US Census, Anderson Co, TX
Susan F. Fulton, age 47 (1833), b MS, [widow of Lorenso Dow Fulton] and several children
along with "mother-in-law" ...
"Jane Milner", age 81 (1799), b TN, par VA/VA [Nancy Jane (Moore) Fulton Milner, widow of William Fulton and Unknown Milner].
Sorry, I don't know what became of widow Nancy Moore (Fulton) Humberson ... but it's entirely possible that she remarried after 1860. I'll bet she stayed in Anderson Co, TX.

I understand that you're trying to pinpoint when/where your Wm. F. Humberson met young Nancy Moore Fulton ... here's what I know:
William FULTON married 24 May 1820 at Blount Co, AL, Jane Moore [Nancy Jane Moore, b bef 1800 in TN]. The two known children, Lorenso Dow Fulton, b 1821, and Nancy Moore Fulton, b 1823, were probably born in Blount Co, AL. William FULTON was a member of the 14th Regiment, Alabama Militia (Col. John Gilbreath) and died before 1830.
I'm intrigued by the surname Humberson in Winston Co, MS. This may help identify an early Fulton family in this area.
