I am searching for the parents and siblings of Jesse S. STEPHENS who appeared on the 1850 Marengo Co., Alabama (AL) census at the age of 30, birthplace South Carolina (SC) with his wife, Sarah A. (UNKNOWN) at the age of 24, birthplace AL, and children Leonides R., age 7; Rebecca J., age 5; James O., age 3; and, Mary E., age 7 months. He appeared on the 1860 Anderson Co., Texas (TX) census with wife Sarah, Lenadus, age 16; R.J., age 14; J.A., age 12; M.E., age 10; M.E., age 8; Wm., age 6; Wesley, age 4; and, "not named", age 1.
Jesse gives the birthplace of both of his parents as Virginia (VA) on the 1880 Anderson Co., TX census where he is joined by wife, Sarah A, son, Julius, age 20; Julia Ann, age 18; and, grandson, Lawrence, age 7. I am descended from Julia Ann. She married Curtis A. CORDER on 19Dec1883 in Anderson Co., TX.
