I have the following Williams families who were in Anderson Co.,Tex. They were all siblings and children of John H. Williams and Mary Mahan. These children were born in Ala. and moved to Anderson Co.,Tex. sometime prior to 1860:
(1)Martha Williams b. 1835 Ala. md. Thomas Shipley 1861 Anderson Co.,Tex.
(2)James Martin Williams b. 1837 Ala. md. Sarah Jane Haywood Nov.30,1861 Anderson Co.,Tex. Note: James served with the 8th Texas Cavalry for the Confederacy.
(3)Mary Louisa Williams b.1843 Ala. md. James T. Cotton Feb.17,1861 Anderson Co.,Tex.
(4)Sarah Williams b.1850 Ala. md. Samuel Brown Aft.1870 Anderson Co.,Tex.
