Kate, Thanks. I'm sorry to hear about Gene. I had read several of your posts here on Genforum when you had gone to Peter Montigue's grave, etc.. I've seen Mary Walker lately with an Aylett mother and Bejamin Walker as her father. I've also seen Edmund and (also named Edward Walker) of Wales and Thomas Walker as grandfather who marriedMildred Thorton Meriwether. But I have not seen a child of Thomas Walker, MD with the name Edward or Edmundlisted as his or their's.None of these would shock me. My grandmother's family was the Pittmans( who married down the line into the Youngers) and I descend from William "Longhunter" Pittman of Green County,KY. Up his line(his grandfather) was William Pittman m. Anne Hipkins of King and Queen,VA. Their daughter, Anne Pittman m. Robert Taliferio III. They had Sarah Isabella Taliferio m. John Terrell Lewis. Her brother Isaac married Margaret Riding, her mother Ann Riding married Francis Thorton second or third. I'm thinking Margaret Thorton Meriwether was the daughter of Francis Thorton and Mary Taliferro. But I can't say for sure that theFrancis Thorton that married Ann Riding was one and the same astheirare so many Francis Thorton's running around. Do you have the Martin's of Amherst, Abermarle(Henry Martin m. Judith Holland) in your line. Well, I know you have Agatha Buford because she married John Warwick and their son, Abraham m. Amy Campbell and had Polly Warwickwho married Edward Martin and Sally Warwick m. Zach Taliaferro(and I'm not sure who his parents were). William "Longhunter" Pittman's grandson, Christopher R. Pittman m. Margaret Martin, daughter of John Martin and Anna Page. And I haven't figured out his father, exactly. But those Martin's came to Warren County and John went to Garrard. I was just wondering if you had any of these other Martins in any or the other Martin family men in any Twymanlines. As they all hung close together. Interesting story, with the Youngers. John W. Younger and Mary Agatha Dearing Youngeralong with Joshua Younger, Charles Lee Younger and Peter Younger were in Garrard County in 1801 or 1802 and living next door to Abraham? Buford m. Margaret Kirtley. And that is in the book, Friends of the Youngers. Now I have often wondered where the Charles "Lee" name came from and then he named a couple of his children with the "Lee" middle name. The Younger family does not know exactly who the wife of Joshua Younger, (Charles father) was. Suposedly, an Elizabeth Lee. There are people who have him in the Richard Lee family marrying an Elizabeth. But no hard facts on that. Another Brick wall. Thanks for getting back to me. My email address has changed to [email protected].
