Dan,

William Barrett and Nancy (Wayman) Twomey are listed in Panola County in 1850. According to a quote from son Haston Twomey's biography "By his 16th birthday, he had lived in Arkansas, Tenn., Indiana and Mississippi. William was supposedly born in Rowan County, N. C. and according to my source, Nancy was also born there.

I have Ellender's birthday as March 31, 1819.

My guess is that her father, William B. was deceased (I don't know when he died) and Mother was living with Ellender. Nancy probably gave the land in his name, or as Mrs. W. B. Twomey
