Depends on what you consider high class "Society"!

The Thomas Twining founded the Twining Tea Company in London and is still in existence today. I visited the headquarters when I was in London. You can purchase Twining Tea Bags in most grocery stores in the Midwest and, if I remember correctly, the headquarters in the US is in North Carolina.

Mary Wilkerson, daughter of Lieut Col. John Wilkerson, married Stephen Twining April 18, 1765 in Bucks Co., PA.

Of more recent fame is Air Force General, Nathan Farragut (1897-1982), son of Clarence Walter Twining and Mazie VanValzha Barber. (You can find quite a bit of info on him in a Google search) He descends from Nathaniel and Joan (Pinquite) Twining through Samuel and Mary (Jenks) Twining.
