SEPTEMBER 12, 1946
Frank Twiehaus, 58, died at the Livingston county sanatorium in Pontiac at six o'clock Saturday evening, Sept. 7th. He had been a patient there for about two months.
The body was brought to his late home in Chatsworth and funeral services were held from the Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with burial in the Chatsworth cemetery. Services were in charge of Rev. A.E. Kalkwarf. Casket bearers were Lester Perkins, Mike Arends, Joe Jehle, Will Ginter, Fred Schafer and Bill Ommen.
Included in those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Emma Haag, Marlette, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Haag, Rensselaer, Indiana; Mrs. Goerge Krug, Sr., Minonk; Carl Krug and Mrs. Elmer Krug, El Paso; Mrs. Nellie Stimpert, Panola; Mr. and Mrs. George Walters, Buckley; Mr. and Mrs. William Benson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benson, of Thawville; Mrs. Edith Benson, Melvin; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Steger, Pekin; Mrs. Clementine Fecht, Miss Lois Twiehaus, Mrs. Vera Hawthorn, Roberts; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rapp, Gridley, and a host of friends from Cullom, Piper City and Chatsworth.
He was born Sept. 29, 1888, at Panola, a son of William and Wilhemine Twiehaus. He spent most of his life on a farm north of Piper City, where he went with his parents when six months old. The last six years he lived with his sister, Mrs. Dena Grosenbach, Chatsworth.
His illness dated back to about 1915, since which time he had been in frail health, but he loved the old home farm and took an interest in its upkeep. He was of a jovial desposition and never complained, and was always ready to help when able. He was well liked and had a good word for everyone. He never married.
His is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Dena Grosenbach; Mrs. Ida Mickeron, Algona Iowa; Mrs. Emma Haag, Marlette, Michigan; and Mrs. Jennie Fagan, Piper City; two brothers, Lou and William both of Cullom. One brother, Edward, preceded him in death.
