Christoffer and Jake Tutje, Sioux County, Iowa

Christoffer Tutje left Petkum, Oestfriesland, Germany in 1883 for the U.S. Jacob (Jake) Tutje left Petkum alone in 1887. Both settled in Freeport County, Illinois briefly before settling for good in Sioux County, Iowa. Jake was a nephew of Christoffer, son of Christoffer's brother Hinderk, who remained in Germany.
