Elizabeth Frances Tuthill was b 1816 Yates Co., NY. In 1842 Millport (town of Veteran), Chemung Co. NY, she m Albert M. POTTER, a dentist practicing in Elmira. She had a sister "H", who m in Aug 1839 at age 30 a Mr. ATWATER. She had a sister "M" who was unmarried as of 1841. In 1850 a Seeley H. Tuthill, a dentist b c1820 NY, was living in Albert Potter's hh in Elmira NY. In 1870 Seeley H. was living in Schuyler Co. NY, a boatman, married to a Maria, with a son Charles b c1854 & a dau Sarah b c1861. It seems likely he is related to Elizabeth, perhaps even a brother. Elizabeth & Albert Potter moved to Galveston TX in 1859, where he d 1865 & she d 1884. Would like to find Elizabeth's lineage & descendants through daughters Julia Ann Elizabeth Potter, b 1845 NY, m W.H. MONROE 1862 TX; and Harriet L. 'Hattie', who m/1 Hurst DOWLAND (son Albert d as an infant), m/2 1867 Sidney B. SMITH of NY, m/3 1884 Nicholas DOUNTRY (employed by the gas company) & disappeared from Galveston records 1885. Hattie had a son Sanford SMITH b 1869 TX and a son Leroy SMITH b 1876 TX. She may have had children by N. Dountry.
