Sorry to disappoint you Mike but the Tuten name is English not German! Email me and I'll get you the origin facts from Dan Tuten, Professor of Linquistics at Mercer University. He did a great job researching the name.

We are from Wedmore, Somersetshire England. We came to America through New Bern North Carolina and migrated early to Beaufort Dist South Carolina. The Waycross migration happened by way of Simon and Joseph Tuten and was much later. If you are interested I can share with you more.
