It looks like the Obed Tuten in Perry County, Tennessee 1840: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tn/perry/census/1840/1840cens.txt Is living right next to a James M. Tuten also. They are also living next to an Ephram Arnold. Now I don't know this for certain, but a Telitha Caroline Arnold married a man born in 1827 from Perry County: John J. Gibbons: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/o/w/Marolyn-R-Howell/COL11-0001.html They moved out to Arkansas and died there. I have wondered about this name, Telitha Carolina or Talitha Caroline and its connection to the Tuten/Tootens. I have a Telitha Caroline Tooten who was born in 1822 in Limestone County, AL and who married a Parker. She was a gggggAunt to me. Daughter of Zacheriah Tooten and Mary Thomas. This Telitha and her husband lived and died in Itawamba County, Mississippi. I've also seen a Telitha Caroline Tooten listed in Illinois, but I believe she might be from more northern families. This name, Telitha Caroline, keeps hitting lots of my families and ones that lived nearby, from NC/SC to central TN and northern AL and then to NE MS and parts west. I've always been intrigued, as every Telitha I've run into in the 1800's had this as her middle name. The Arnolds intrigued me here since my ancestor Hiram Webb (Lincoln Co., TN to Lamar Co., AL to Itawamba Co., MS) probably had a sister named Elizabeth who married a John Arnold in Huntsville, AL in 1816. So I may just be rambling here, but maybe someone will hit this who can use it. Notify Administrator about this message?
