Hi Elinor,

I'm looking for a connection between my Barnwell Preston BEARD b. 1831 SC; and those listed on a deed, where in 1855 he bought land on LANG [sic] (LAING) Bay, Colleton Co, SC; from Ezkekiel BRYANT. Land surveyed by J.K. LINDER.

On the 1860 SC Census of Colleton Co., St Batholomew's Parish, Barnwell BEARD is listed, Wm CAMPBELL is his neighbor (and father-in-law). Other neighbors include the ALLs, other CAMPBELLs, and the LINDERs.

I don't know if any of the above people were related to LAINGs in any way. But, I am looking for a connection, non the less, between Ezkekiel BRYANT and perhaps LAING (just in case they are related to BEARD).

I searched for a "LANG BAY" for some time until I realized that there was a different spelling.

Do you have any land deeds for the family?
