Elder G. N TUSSING of Columbus, OH, mentioned in 1897 obit
The following obituary appeared in the “Primitive Monitor and Church Advocate:In the Interest of the Primitive Baptists,” Vol. 13, No. 9, September 1898, edited by R. W. THOMPSON, Greenfield, IN, pp. 431-32:
“Louise GOLLOGHER BLUE, daughter of the late John and Sarah GOLLOGHER, was born in Fairfield county, O., Mar. 15, 1829; departed this life Dec. 25, 1897, aged 68 years, 9 months, and 10 days. She was united in marriage to John Q.A. BLUE Aug. 29, 1850, with whom for over forty-seven years she led a most happy and devoted life. This union was blessed with twelve children, one son and five daughters having been called from this earthly home to take up their abiding place with the innumerable caravan that silently marches to the pale realms of shade, there awaiting the coming of mother. In her youth she realized a hope in the dear Savior, and on the first Sunday in Aug., 1881, she, with her husband, united with the Primitive Baptist church at Turkey Run, of which church she lived a devoted member until half past four o’clock on Christmas afternoon when her spirit took its flight to join the church of the saints above.Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast fought a good fight, thou hast finished thy course, and there is laid up in heaven a crown of righteousness for you.Her Christian life was manifested in her daily walk. She was loving, kind, and charitable to all.Oh, how we will miss you, dear mother!During her illness not once was she heard to complain, but bore this chastening of the Almighty’s hand with true Christian grace and faith, ever leaning upon his everlasting arm.The skill of learned physicians, the ever faithful, anxious, and willing hands of husband, the tender care of children and friends were unable to conquer the common enemy—death, he who shall yet lead us all to the silent halls of the tomb.To know this precious mother was only to love her, and her death has left a vacant place in the home which never can be filled. But while our hearts are sorrowing, yet we can say, “Thy will oh Lord, not mine be done!”She leaves a deeply bereaved husband, four son’s, two daughters, ten grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, and numerous relatives and friends to mourn her departure, but what is our loss is mother’s eternal gain.Funeral services were conducted at the home on Tuesday morning by her pastor, Elder G. N. TUSSING, of Columbus, O.; and her remains were laid to rest in the Amanda Township cemetery.[Submitted by]C. E. BLUE”
