Iím afraid I donít know. My connection with that family is through my great-grandfather, George Marion Cox, two of whose sisters married Turrentines as follows:

Julia Ann (Gillie Ann) Cox (b. 1841) m. (1864, in Batesville, Panola Co., Mississippi) John Turrentine (b. 1806).

Martha Jane (Matt) Cox (1842-1927) m. (1867) Charles Walter Turrentine (1836-1903). The family lived in Lonoke, Arkansas, and perhaps later in Little Rock.

I was trying to find living descendants of those great-great aunts. I have been in touch with descendants of Gillie Ann, but never found any of Mattís family (three of her daughters married men named Curtis, Rule and Saunders). All the children of the two Turrentine families were girls, so none of their later descendants had that name.

I thought Turrentines already knew everything there was to know about their family. Someone sent me information in the 1980ís about who Charles Walter and John were. They were in ďthe Turrentine Book.ď John Turrentine was the father of Charles Walter, and, yes, so far as I can find out he really was that much older than his wife.
