Debbie,
David Bookter Turnipseed was my great uncle on my mother's side of the family. We knew he had been married & divorced once while in ID (he lived there for many years along with other Turnipseed relatives)but did not know the circumstances of what happened between him & his wife Willa. My grandfather was his brother & they never got along very well.Uncle Dave, as my mother says, was always convinced he was right about something even if you could prove inrefutably that he wasn't, so there must have been some personality conflicts somewhere.(Grandpa was a little bit of a hard head about things too, but he was willing to own up to his mistakes).
I believe he worked up in the ID area (don't know what at)-after retiring, he moved back to Ellis Co., TX where he was born on 21 Nov 1888 & died there on 7 Jul 1957.He is buried at the Palmer Cemetery in Palmer, Ellis Co., TX.He served during WWI as a waggoner.I have seen a Willa Turnipseed md to a Hansen in 1919 ID marriage records online.Would this be Dave's wife after their divorce?I have no one else in my records who would fit.
I have a few fotos of Uncle Dave & I would love to know anything further about Willa if you have it.You can respond here or e-mail me at [email protected].
Thanks,
