This may not be much help but Stephen and wife are enumerated in Eastrn District, Isle of Wight Co. VA in the 1850 Census. Peggy is a nickname for Margaret:

1850 Census, Eastern District, Isle of Wight Co. VA
Enumeration date: Nov. 20, 1850

stamped page 180 (image 119 on Ancestry.com's images)
#1005
Stephen Turner, 30 M, Farmer, VA
Margaret Turner, 28, VA
Susan, 5 F
Francis, 3 M
Sarah, 1 F

On the next page is

#1013
Jesse Turner, 30 M, VA
Elizabeth Turner, 60 F

They may be related but there are so many Turners in this area that figuring out exactly how they all fit together is a major task.

Was your ancestor this child listed as Francis age 3 in the 1850 Census?

Gail
