Sandra Turner Smith, 44, of Morristown, TN, passed away
Saturday, August 1, 2009, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Blackburn
Turner; brothers, Virgil Blackburn and Ronald Turner.
Sandy was a Christian devoted to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She taught the children’s Sunday school class, and also
was a director for Bible School. Sandy also volunteered
for the pregnancy crisis center of the Nolichucky Baptist
Association.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Smith; stepdaughter,
Ashley Smith; grandchildren, Hunter Davis and Damien
Smith, whom she dearly loved and provided for; father,
George (Vivian) Turner; brothers, George Turner Jr., and
Randy (Nancy) Turner; mother-in-law, Phyllis Smith; father-
in-law, Joe Max (Suzanne) Smith; and a host of special
friends.
The family received friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday,
August 3, 2009, at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
The funeral service followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David
Williams officiating.
Interment will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2009, in
Hamblen Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in
Sandy’s name to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 410 S Liberty
Hill Rd., Morristown, TN 37813-1871.
Arrangements by Allen Funeral Home in Morristown.
