Seeking information on COL. HOWELL PEEBLES who married Mrs. HANNAH DARCY, 6-20-1808, Greensville Co., VA. They were the aunt and uncle of MARY P. TURNER (b. 6-7-1818, Greensville Co., VA), daughter of SIMON TURNER and his wife, MARY.
The TURNERs died leaving MARY an orphan and the PEEBLES took her in and reared her. She later (9-2-1847) married Rev. JOHN S. WILLIAMS, and died 6-22-1877, Maury Co., TN.
WILLIAMS was a METHODIST minister.
The Williams had three children:
(1) John R. Williams (b.ca. 1850)
(2) SIMON TURNER WILLIAMS, MD, (b.ca. 1851) who married HARRIET ELIZABETH WINFORD
(3) LAURA ROSAMOND WILLIAMS who married Rev. ROBERT CALHOUN PARKS.
What was the maiden name of HANNAH DARCY PEEBLES? What was the family name of MARY TURNER, wife of SIMON TURNER?
