David Turnbull, anti slave campaigner, and Cuban Consul 1840s

Hi there was a David Turnbull, who along with William Wilberforce et al, was a huge anti-slavery campaigner in the early to mid 1800s.

In 1839-40 he published a 400 page book called "Travels in the West, Cuba, with notices on the slave trade and Porto Rico". He was later the British consul to Cuba, and later was expelled from Cuba. (that book was reprinted in USA in 1969, and can be found on amazon dot com)

Does anyone have any idea of his descendants or his ancestry?
