Hi Lorna,
I have seen your message regarding Thurnbulls born Nichol Forest, Cumberland.
Well my husbands, great grandfather James Turnbull was born (according to the 1881 British census) at Nichol Forest. In 1881 he is listed as widowed, aged 77 years and unable to work. He has living with him 2 sons and 1 daughter. They are: ROBERT unmarried aged 25 years born Kirk Linton, Cumberland, occupation Labourer and Primitive Methodist Local Preacher. CHRISTOPHER (my husbands grandfather) aged 22 unmarried occupation Ironwoker. HANNAH aged 20 unmarried occupation Housekeeper.
I hope that this is of help to you and I hope to hear from you eventually, doing our family trees I find great fun and we now have over 2000 relatives between us.
