John Squires Turley of Shelby County, Illinois
Posted by: Lee Griffin (ID *****5318) Date: November 20, 2008 at 22:35:49
  of 1456

John Squires Turley received a 40-acre land patent in Shelby County, IL on Aug 10, 1838. John S. Turley received a 40-acre land patent in Shelby County, IL on Oct 10, 1840.

His name was given in the 1840 census in Shelby County as J. S. Turly.

I believe that he was the same Jno S. Turley, age 50, born in TN, who was living in Grayson County, TX in 1850. This Jno had a wife E. Turley, age 50, born in TN. Four of their children, ages 11 to 19 were born in IL. Another possible older son was born in KY and another possible older son may have been born in Alabama.

I am seeking information on John Squires Turley, his ancestors and his children.
