Hubert Emerson Turk was born 4 July 1879 at Washougal, Clark County, Washington, and died 24 September 1970 at Olympia, Thurston County, Washington. His parents were Henry W. Turk and Vashti Viola Chandler. Hubert appears at age 8 in the 1880 Washington census for Skamania County with his parents and siblings, except for his as yet unborn sister Amy Pearl Turk.
Henry married three times. His wives were (1) Lorena May Wing, aka Birdie Wing, (2) Myrtle Edith Rodgers, and (3) Bendina (nee Christianson) Carl, whose nickname was "Dena."
Hubert and Lorena had one child, a son, whom they named Harold Hubert Turk. The couple eventually divorced, Birdie later married Alexander David Wallace, and Harold was legally adopted by his stepfather and renamed "Harold Turk Wallace."
Hubert and Myrtle had three children, daughter Helen Viola Turk, son Earle Emerson Turk, and a third child still living. This couple also divorced.
Hubert and Bendina had no children together. Henry and Bendina are buried at Forest Memorial Gardens in Olympia, Washington.
