Thanks for responding and for the information.

I have had my Turin cousin's DNA tested. He is R1b1b2a1b.

He matches the Atlantic Modal exactly for the first 14 markers (meaning that he has a common haplotype although he only has 2 close matches at 37 markers one in Ireland and one in Germany).

At 12 markers, he currently matches over 800 people in the Family Tree DNA database. I don't think a lot of people of French or Italian ancestry are in that database yet but I will continue checking.
