According to the Tuppers in America Book, Simeon Tupper I b 1729, had sons Simeon (1771)and Ebenezer (1762), among others. I was researching this family in the Making of America Book, history of Pittsford VT and it mentions John Tupper and his sons Ebenezer and Simeon moving to Pittsford, Rutland Co VT in 1782. At first I thought it must be a different family, but additional information in the article made me realize it was not. It mentions Simeon (II) being a fifer in the Revolutionary War and Ebenezer marrying Lois Bisby, both brothers moved to NY. This information is correct however they had a brother John, not a father John. This makes me wonder if John is a nickname Simeon (I) went by or was he was inadvertantly referred to by his son's name? If you'd like to see the article, go to http://home.att.net/~local_history/Rutland-Co-VT.htm#PITTSFORD then go to MOA PG. 192-93 or I copied the information onto my website www.areyourelated.com then go to tupper, simeon I Notify Administrator about this message?
