Yes - Sevier R Tup was named after Gabriel Rains. (Rains is another names I am considering for the other twins middle name.) Gabriel Rains was married to Mary Jane McClellan whom my daughter, McClellan is named. I have several photos of him. And I am also aware of Gov John Sevier. On the back of the family photos, my grandmother, Jane, would write who they were and anything "exciting" about them. I recall that Grandma said Gov Sevier's wife was a sort of "cult celebrity" known for her beauty. This is exciting. I called my mom as soon as I got your email to tell her. I know my Dad will be excited as well. I found your email on the forum and have given that to my parents so they can contact you to discuss our lineage. I know they would be more than happy to help you fill in some blanks. All of our family values our lineage and it is evidenced by photographs and memoribilia in our homes - things passed down from one generation to another. You can see my email on the forum as well I think if you click on my name and follow the instructions. It is hard to see at first (Spammer protection) but you can email me directly instead of going through this forum if you'd like. I'm really glad you posted. My grandmother did not have the best relationship with "Grandpa Tup" and we don't know very much about what he did when he divorced my grandmother's mother. Thanks again and looking forward to exploring our family trees!
