Parchment : 2 sheets 57cm x 70cm with 1 wax seal, signature and revenue stamps.

Summary of contents
Frederick LAST of number 13 Grays Inn Square, Middlesex. Gentleman.
Charles William TUPPER of 132 New Bond Street, Middlesex. Esquire.

ORIGINAL UK DOCUMENT - 29 October 1872

Frederick Last is selling a lease on number 132 New Bond Street to Charles Tupper for 1000. The lease is to run for 21 years at a rent of 350 per annum.

The property is described as a "messuage or dwelling house" but note that the lessee undertakes not to permit "any trade or business whatsoever except the business now being carried on". Unfortunately, we are not told what that business may be.

NB A note added on the back is headed "In the London Bankruptcy Court - Re Charles William Tupper" and dated 1874, but gives no useful details

The original parchment document relating to the above is displayed on PHOTO. Use surname search on FamilyChest website to locate.

Full transcription/explanation available upon request, or you can buy the original document if you belong to the family.

FamilyChest saves historical family indentures from the shredder!
