Hi Doug & everyone !! In response to your quote about the "other"kids AND what was written by Lucy Ball.
My 3rd.G.Grandpa was Calvin Tunnell m.to Jane Adair.and according to Miss Lucy Ball he was born in N.C.and Lady Ann Lived with them 'till she died.He was born 1791 and she died in 1814 so he would have been 23 years old & married a couple of years when she died.
According to letters that he wrote to his daughters & the way he wrote letters & did his Will he was a very intelectual man SO she MUST HAVE told him about her past life in Eng.& that they had to leave Eng.A possibilty is that maybe they used other names. It was handed down byMiss Lucy that she wanted to be called LADY ANN not granny/Grandma etc.She was one STRONG lady to travel at the age of 77 from Herndon Va.to NC.by foot/wagon & horse !!! AND to do that all over again in 1798 & the ripe old age of 88 !!! This BLOWS MY MIND !!!! AND still be able to mount & ride a horse at 100 !!!!
In the N.S.Families book it states that she rode across the Clinch River on her 100th.birthday AND it does NOT say where. It just HAPPENS that her daughter Elizabeth(b.@ 1757)
arried to George (nmi)Ball Sr.lived on BALL Holler on the Clinch River in Russell Co.Va.They lived nr.present day New Garden,Va.By 180` Elizabeth already had her 12 kids. She named all but one the same names as Mary(Maysey)& Wm.Tunnell did.& one was named oses Tunnell & I ASSUMED that he was named a BALL name BUT I found a Moses Ball that could be Ann & Wm's son in NC. In NC> I founda Mary Tunnel(b.1752)who was listed a father named Teacher Tunnell.I have her husbands name but I have not compiled on them.Sincerely yours,Wilma M.(COWSAR)Brown P.S. I would appreciate any fedbak on this letter.-Sincerely ,Your distant cousin,Wilma M.(COWSAR)Brown E-mail is GRANNYWMB@AOL.COM Ph: 817-578-1655
