Ruby Mitchell Tunnell, 87, of Gray, Washington Co TN, died
Monday evening, June 20, 2011, at Remington House, in
Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, after an extended illness.

Born in Hawkins Co TN, she had resided in Gray from
1945-2007, before moving to Remington House. She was a
homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Fall
Branch. Mrs. Tunnell enjoyed gardening and was an avid
Lady Vol's fan. Her happiest moments were when she and her
husband spent time fishing, camping, and time with their
family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years,
Roat S. Tunnell; her parents, George H. and Luvada
Williams Mitchell; and three brothers, Hugh Mitchell,
Sampson Mitchell, and Harding Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughters, Rozann T. Hawkins,
Boones Creek, TN, Patsy F. Tunnell, and Sandra T. Strouth,
both of Gray, TN; son, Stanley W. Tunnell and wife Sue,
Greeneville, SC; sister, Mary Etta Roaden and husband
Arliss, Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Pauline Y. Mitchell,
Morristown, TN; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the
staff of Remington House and Amedisys Hospice for their
overwhelming kindness, care and support.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on
Thursday, June 23, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Fall
Branch, or anytime at Ruby's home.

Services will follow at 7 p.m., with Dr. Arliss L. Roaden
and Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.

Burial will be on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at
Washington County Memory Gardens.

Memorial gifts may be made to Amedisys of Kingsport, TN,
c/o Hospice Services, 200 Professional Park Private Dr.,
Kingsport, TN 37660, or to First Baptist Church of Fall
Branch, 1525 Hwy 93, Fall Branch, TN 37656.
