New Market - Cresie Louester Tunnell Jeffers, 95, of
Jefferson City, TN, died Thursday, October 14, 2010, at
Jefferson Memorial St. Mary's Hospital.

She went to be with the Lord, her family stated.

Mrs. Jeffers is survived by a daughter, Billie Carter, in
Greeneville, TN.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jeffers was the widow of William Andrew 'Bill' Jeffers.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Trantham; a
son, George L. Jeffers; two sisters, Opal Stubblefield and
Sylvia Bishop; and two brothers, Oliver Tunnell and Kelsey
Tunnell.

Survivors, in addition to her daughter in Greeneville,
include three sons, Johnny Jeffers, of Knoxville, TN,
Howard Jeffers, of Strawberry Plains, TN, and Jimmy
Jeffers, of Jefferson City, TN; three daughters, Hilda
Jeffers, of Mount Carmel, TN, Janice Rutherford, of
Jefferson City, TN, and Sylvia Cain, of New Market, TN;
twenty-four grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren;
and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.,
Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Fielden Funeral Home, in
New Market.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 p.m., in
the funeral home chapel.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday
afternoon, October 17, 2010, in Providence Cemetery,
formerly known as Robinette Cemetery, in Hawkins Co TN.
The Rev. Joe Bailey will officiate.
