Your addl. info. of 2/19 has some errors. Let me correct you. William Sprague Tunison was my grandfather. He came with his parents (David King Tunison and Margaret Sprague] from New York City and settled for a time in Harrison Township just north of Rockford, IL in Winnebago County. William married my grandmother, Mary Etta Layng [NOT Land] March 22, 1874, in Harrison Township. [She was the daughter of Robert Layng and Mary McCann.]
William and Mary Etta then settled in Rockford, and William's parents moved on to Kansas. William and Mary Etta had 12 children, one of whom was my father, Joseph Edward Tunison. born here on February 17, 1880.
Neither Eugene nor William died in infancy. Eugene was born in 1876 and died Jan. 22, 1904. He is buried in Cedar Bluff cemetery in Rockford.
William was born about 1880. [He was my Uncle Bill who died before I was born but certainly not in infancy. His wife was Bessie and he was still listed in our city directory in 1910. [I willf find his death date soon.]
Clark Tunison was born Jan. 9, 1876, lived in Kansas, and visited Rockford relatives in 1927 (Iam told by my older relatives.)
Write to me at I have questions for you, too.
