Hello, I believe the older research stating Thurstan Toone and James Toone, immigrant ancestor to Virginia in 1651, as the same person,to be incorrect based upon these facts for both men....

TOONE, Thurston of Cheshire, pleb. LINCOLN COLL., matric. 22 Oct., 1602, aged 18 (subscribes "Therstans"), B. A. 2 July 1606, M. A. 1 June 1609; rector of Collingtree, Northants, 1630. See Foster's "Index Eccl."

Therefore, the James Toone who immigrated to Gloucester, Virginia in 1651, could not have been the same person as Thurstan Toone(married to Mary Atterbury) who died in 1638.
