John Tumlin Sr b @ 1740, maybe VA had son John Jr
@ 1774 in SC. He married an Anna ___________.
Children were Wm Henry, Elizabeth, John, Abram
Anderson, Thomas L, James and Anna.
Wm son of John Sr m Agnes R Carlisle. He was b Jan
1775 in SC. Children were:
Imri (probably should be Emory), Lewis, George
Washington, Wm, Rebecca, Nancy Agnes, Mary Ann 'Polly',
Elizabeth, and Ann.
George Washington b 1815 in Gwinnett Co. GA m
1. Mar 1834 to Rachel Wade. They moved to Cass,now
Bartow Co. GA by 1840. Children were: Newton Jasper,
Wm Marion, James Spencer, Henry Imri, Virgil Meigs,
twins Mary Elizabeth and Martha Ann, Chester Lewis.
Rachel d in 1850 and George remarried to Laura Anna
Terhune in 1851 in Carroll Co. GA. George was a well
known Baptist minister. By his second wife he had a
daugther Anna Laura who died young and a son George
Samuel who also became a Baptist minister.
George Samuel Tumlin b Dec 1852 m Alice Gilreath in
1874 in Bartow Co. GA. Their children were:
Clara M., Irene, Emory Clay, Mary E., Anna Laura,
Lizzie/Bessie, Alice Augusta, Lillian M. Clifton,
George Albert, and Eva N. By 1910 the family had
moved to Wichita Co. TX. He is supposed to have
died in 1925 in Dallas, TX and she is supposed to
have died in 1947 in Dallas, TX. Buried in Grove Hill
cemetery.
