NOTE: Cynthia Sloan Tullis was a daughter of James and his 1st wife, Rachel (Kirkpatrick) Sloan. She is listed in the 1860 census, Cherokee, Logan Co., OH., Pg. 45b, Fam #654, at age 4, (born 1856) with parents James & Rachel Sloan and siblings. Children all born Logan Co., OH.
Cynthia Tullis's Death Certificate lists her father's name James Sloan, her mother's name Sarah Roll, info given by her daughter, Bessie Haggard. Cynthia's birth mother was Rachel Kirkpatrick, who died after birth of daughter named Rachel in 1861.
James Sloan remarried abt 1863 to Sarah Roll?, where they are listed in the 1870 census, McArthur Twp., Logan Co., OH., with additional children. James & Sarah later moved to Kenton, Hardin Co., OH., where they are listed in the 1880 census.
I am primarily researching James & Rachel Sloan's ancestry for a family tree. James Sloan was b. 1818, PA., d. Oct. 13, 1892, Kenton, Hardin Co., OH. Rachel Kirkpatrick Sloan, b. 1822, PA., d. 1861-1862, Logan Co., OH. So far, I have found three other children of James and Rachel Sloan, whose Obits I posted today on the OHIO Genealogy Message Board. Would appreciate hearing from anyone connected to these families for exchange of family history.
