A John Tellis was buried in Lafayette Cemetery, Jackson Township, Allen County, OH, in 1893 (born 10 July 1832 and died 15 Dec 1893).He would have been 22 years old in 1854 when your Henry was born. This John's wife was Emma born 5 Mar 1841 died 8 Feb 1902, and is also buried in Lafayette Cemetery, Jackson, Allen, OH.She may be the same as Anna (sounds like Emma? or Anne Emma) Leslie who married John Tellis 9 Aug 1860 in Hancock, OH.John could have conceivably been married previous to 1860 as he would have been 28 years old that year.I have not found John in the 1860, 1870, or 1880 censuses of OH, but I have his parentage as follows:John is son of Griffith Tellis who is in Allen, OH, in 1850.Griffith was born 1803/1804 in KY and was most likely the son of John Tullis/Tellis/Tullos Jr. who settled Logan County, OH, helping to lay out the town of Bellefontaine.John was born between 1770 and 1780 in VA the son of John Tullus Sr.John Sr was born 1749/1750 in Fauquier, VA, and died 1825 in Bellefontaine, Logan, OH.This John and his brother Griffin fit well to be sons of Rodham Tulloss who resided in the part of Prince William County, VA, which later became Fauquier, VA.Rodham was the son of John the son of Claudius "Cloud" Tulloss (who emigrated from Scotland before 1665).
