The Tullar name associated with my family was seen in and around Simsbury, CT starting about 1642. A few generations later, someone modified the spelling and both Tullar and Tuller have been used ever since. As far as I can tell, we all have our origins in CT. Beyond that, there is some confusion. It is said that the first Tullar in this country came from the Netherlands, but that does not necessarily mean he was Dutch since many people left England and Europe from ports in the Netherlands.
There was another Tullar who may or may not be of the same family. He was a contemporary of the William Tullar whose family thrived in Simsbury, but his family went to NY. I have just enough info about him to be thoroughly confused. He was Willem Tullar.
What more can you tell me about Carlisle Vincent Tullar of Chicago and his wife, Ruth Ethel Clawson? Do you have any information about his parents, siblings, and ancestry? I would like to be able to connect your line with the family information I currently have..... ken
