It was the word "Birmingham" that triggered it. My father, Philip Ambrose Tuckey, was born in 1911 in Birmingham, England, followed by his brother George. Their father (my grandfather), George Ambrose Tuckey and grandmother Catherine (nee Dunn) split up. Family lore is that my grandfather embezzled from his employer - we think it was Cadbury -and absconded to Canada with a younger woman. That would have been mid-1920s, as my grandmother and her two sons migrated to Australia about that time. In the Lodge Hill Cemetery in a place called Selby Oak (I think that's in Northhamptonshire, which is near Birmingham, are buried John Tuckey, who died on May 1, 1907, aged 81, and George Thomas Tuckey, who died June 20, 1917, aged 63. The latter was probably my great-grandfather.
I hope this helps. It's a difficult line to trace.
Bill Tuckey
